The ombudsperson at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science is the contact person for all questions concerning the safeguarding of good scientific practice.

Responsibilities

The ombudsperson can advise you on questions concerning the preservation of good scientific practice. Furthermore, the ombudsperson can try to mediate in a conflict that concerns good scientific practice. Good scientific practice includes, for example, authorship issues and the safeguarding of research data, but also the appropriate supervision of junior researchers.

The ombudsperson advises independently, impartially and absolutely confidentially. Furthermore, the opening of a procedure is always voluntary, i.e. the investigation of a suspicion only takes place if you agree.

The work of the ombudsperson is based on the statutes for ensuring good scientific practice at the University of Leipzig. For more information on the procedure and good scientific practice, please visit the page of the Ombudsperson Commission of the University of Leipzig.
